- Introduction. It is intended to hold the Back Badge reunion this year on the 18th of March at Walls
Social Club, Hammond Way, Barnwood, Gloucester, GL4 3HG.
Please Note the Church service this year will be held at St Mary de Crypt in Southgate Street GL21 2DR
followed by a march through Gloucester prior to the lunch gathering. - Background. Some key points for the day include:
• Church Service at St Mary de Crypt. The service will begin at 11.30 am. PLEASE take your
seats by 11.15 am. As before Canon Nikki Arthy has kindly agreed to lead. All are most welcome,
and the service will be accompanied by ex-members of the Glosters Band.
• March through Gloucester. Form up under parade marshal outside the West door on Southgate
Street. The salute will be taken on the steps of the Shire Hall. The march continues turning right
into Archdeacon Streat where the participants will halt and fall out.
• Transport. Mr Andy Casey is kindly donated his minibus to transport people from the church to
Walls Social Club returning to Archdeacon Street for any marching vets requiring a lift. If
required, please annotate the proforma.
Mrs Jenny McBryde will organise lifts from anyone with spare seats in their cars, could drivers
please inform Jenny it they are prepared to give lifts if the minibus is full.
• Gathering. Walls Social Club is kindly arranging a three-course lunch, cost £25.00 per
head, please note that this price is the same as last year and to alleviate the problem of
cold food last year we are looking to change to a self-service buffet, however, starters,
sweets and coffee will be served at the table. A bottle of red and a bottle of white wine
will also be included. There will be tea/coffee available on arrival in the reception bar,
and the lounge bar has been booked for after lunch, drinks and snacks as required.
• Widows. The committee wish to encourage our regimental widows. Please try to bring
along a widow or widower.
• Standard Bearers. There will be a brief rehearsal at 10.45 in the Church.
