Good afternoon Gents. It is with much sadness that I need to inform you of the passing of one of your former Brothers in Arms (1 Glosters) and my good friend and fellow Veteran, Mark Bessell. Mark died on Friday afternoon after being caught in an avalanche on the north face of Ben Nevis. His climbing partner suffered severe injuries and is being treated in hospital. He leaves behind his wife, and son from a former relationship. No further details currently known regarding funeral arrangements etc. My apologies for being the bearer of such sad news.
