Sadly Major (QM) John Peters died on Christmas Day. Details of his funeral will be released when known. John Peters enlisted into the Royal Berkshire Regiment and served with them until the amalgamation with the Wiltshire Regiment created the Duke of Edinburgh’s Royal Regiment (Berkshire and WIltshire). He went on to become the RSM of 1 DERR , being commissioned he later went on to be the QM. John was a very successful Small Bore shot representing the battalion on many occasions. He will also be remembered for being an excellent curator of the Regimental Museum in Salisbury and then carrying on for many years as a stalwart museum volunteer.
