The death of Stanley Kemp, Wiltshire Regiment

SGT Stanley Kemp who served in the Wiltshire regiment during the war and in Hong Kong and Germany shortly afterwards. He has unfortunately recently deceased 27/12/2017. Our condolences to his family

The Death of Paul Langston (Stan), Glosters

Paul Langston (Stan) passed away at around 12 o’clock today 29/12/17.
Now at rest after suffering for some time.
Paul joined 10/09/1974

The Death of Drum Major Charlie Choules, DERR

Today I have been asked by Charlies Widow Mrs Rose Choules to deal with any and all enquires with regards to Charlies passing.

23915884 Drum Major Jean (John) Choules : Born 22/06/1946 joined the army as a boy soldier in June 1962, DERR, becoming a member of the Regiments Corps of Drums.

Charlie and Rose were married for 16 years and have lived in Chepstow Since .

The funeral will be held at the new crematorium,Magor with a request of NO FLOWERS but all donations to The Regimental Association, funeral date and time to be advised later.

Charlies funeral:

Wednesday 17th January 2018 at 1430hrs 
Langstone Vale Crematorium (this is a new one)
Magor, NP18 2PB

Last Post and Reveille will be sounded and The Regimental Standard will be carried for him.

The Death of Eric Tideswell, Glosters

886995 Eric Austin Tideswell passed away peacefully on Friday 3rd November 2017 surrounded by his family. Eric was a veteran of the Battle of the River Imjin, (B Coy Signaller), spending two years as a prisoner of war before returning to his family. He had previously served throughout the Second World War. He is survived by his son, two daughters and four grandchildren. A family funeral took place in Nottingham on Friday 24th November.

The death of Reg Simkins, Glosters

We are notified by Bob Lane from his RBL Branch of the death of fomer Pte. Reg Simkins who passed away on the 13th November aged 98/99 Reg served in both WW2 and with the Glosters in Korea.
His funeral will take place at 1200hrs Monday 4th December 2017 at St. Mary’s Church , Church Street, Stratton St. Margaret, Swindon SN3 4NB.
Glosters Standard Bearer Ben Casey, Somerset Branch will be in attendance.
Following the Service there will be refreshments at Grange Drive Community Centre SN3 4JY

Major Sandy Fraser, Royal Berkshire Regiment

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Major Sandy Fraser, Royal Berkshire Regiment, died peacefully on 13th November 2017 aged 93 years old.

A Thanksgiving Service will be held on Friday 1st December at 1500 hrs at the church of St James the Great at Cradley (near Malvern) WR13 5LH.

Pte Terry Leonard

We have been informed by Adrian Leonard that his father Pte Terry Leonard died peacefully on Friday 10th November 2017. Terry served in The Royal Berkshire Regiment from 1957-1959 at Brock Barracks and Cyprus.
Once funeral arrangements are known they will be published here

The funeral of Pte Terry Leonard Royal Berkshire Regiment will take place on Wednesday 29th November at 12pm at the Wyre Forest Crematorium, Minster Road, Stourport-on-Seven, Worcs DY13 8DE.

A celebration of his life will take place at the following location:

Ladies and Gentlemen

It is with much sadness that I write to say goodbye to you all, I am moving on to pastures new  transferring across departments to Ministry of Justice, it has been a pleasure to serve you for the past ten years I have made many friends and will miss you all dearly, for those of you whom may wish to keep in touch please contact Mike Godwin or John Venus who will give you my contact details, I have of course given them my consent to do so. I will of course still bump into some of you at reunions, and of course the local supermarket, you can’t get rid of me that easily!!!!
